Sally May (Carter) Ray

Ms. Sally May Carter Ray, age 75, of Hazlehurst, passed away at her residence May 15, 2024.

Ms. Ray was born on February 06, 1949, in Bacon County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earlice Carter Sr. and Dorothy Googe Carter, her husband, James Robert (Bobby) Ray, her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Carter and two brothers, Earlice Carter Jr. and Roger Carter.

She was a Homemaker, such a good cook, and a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching TV, loving on and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her children said she was a great mama and she will be sadly missed.

Survivors include her sons, Rodney Gene Toler of Hazlehurst, Ted M. Carter of Hazlehurst and stepson James Ray Jr..; her daughters, Christy Rea of Hazlehurst, stepdaughters, Kim Ray Mullis and Beth Ray both of Hazlehurst; her brothers, Keith Carter and Charles Carter both of Hazlehurst; sisters, Joyce Smith of Brunswick and Olidia Carter of Hazlehurst; five grandchildren, Tyler Toler, Justin Toler, Carlie Carter, Whitney Rea (James King) and Jordan Dailey (Ash Dailey); two great-grandsons, Colton King and Little James King; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 17, 2024, at 5:00pm in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Morgan officiating.
