Serena Angela Colson

Ms. Angie Colson, age 55, of Hazlehurst, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.

Ms. Colson was born on September 14, 1970, in Appling County.

She was a member of The Church of God. She had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in gardening, whether she was tending to her vegetables or nurturing her beautiful flowers. She was kind-hearted, with a generous spirit, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She especially cherished the time she spent working alongside her dad on the farm, where she could often be found happily driving the tractor for hours on end.

Survivors include her parents, Diane and Russell Colson of Hazlehurst; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra Loretta and Cary Rodgers of Tallahassee FL; niece, Brooklyn Rodgers and nephew, Cody Rodgers; uncles, Tony (Donna) Butler of Baxley, Robert Colson, Roy (Janell) Colson, Danny (Bobbie Jo) Colson all of Hazlehurst; aunts, Geneva Walker of Perry FL., Barbara Spell of Hazlehurst and Iris McNatt of Douglas; several cousins also survive.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 10:00am in the Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Hal Jeffcoat officiating.

Larry Dale King, Johnny Faulk, Mike Creech, Todd Mosley, Max Colson, and Joe Colson will serve as active pallbearers.

Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home and the Colson family are in charge of all arrangements.
