Sylvia Jean (Winge) McDaniel

Ms. Sylvia Jean Winge McDaniel, age 85, of Hazlehurst, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at her residence.

Ms. McDaniel was born on November 19, 1938, in Bacon County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Winge and Eula Mims Winge, husband, Raymond McDaniel, great-granddaughter, Hadley Coe and sister, Juanita Branch.

Ms. McDaniel was a sweet gentle spirit, and she always greeted you with a sweet smile. She was an elegant lady, always dressed to a T and she enjoyed going to the beauty shoppe. She enjoyed being a homemaker, sewing, crocheting, and working in her yard, because she loved pretty flowers. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Larry Griffin of Hazlehurst; two sons and daughter-in-law, Norris McDaniel of Hazlehurst and Steve and Lynette McDaniel of Hazlehurst; sister, Frances Yarbrough of Baxley; brother, Thomas Winge of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Shane Coe, Shelby Padgett and Ashley Coe; four great-grandchildren, Kaibree Coe, Ryker Coe, Ellie Padgett and Hayden Padgett; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 01, 2024, at 3:30pm in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Yawn officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

Interment will follow in the Mt Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Shane Coe, Derek Padgett, Danny Branch, Kimbo Branch, Ronald Wildes, Jeffery Winge, and Brian Wildes will serve as active pallbearers.
