Tex Brewer Obituary

Mr. Tex Ritter Brewer, age 77, of Lumber City passed away, after an extended illness, at Jeff Davis Hospital surrounded by his family.

Mr. Brewer was born to the late Mr.  Jack Brewer and Mrs. Frankie Lucille Hulett Brewer in Lumber City. He loved to hunt, fish, and watch western movies. He worked for Hazlehurst Mills for 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Virginia Rozier, Frank Brewer, and James Brewer.

 

Services for Mr. Tex will be held graveside at Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City on Friday, January 27, 2023, beginning at 11:00 AM.  Musical selections will be rendered by his granddaughter, Samantha Dean.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Mellissa Rogers Brewer, daughters, Shannon Thomas (Marcus) of Lumber City, Mellissa Brewer of Lumber City, Texee Deen (Lee) of Baxley, brother, Tom Brewer (Genethel) of Hazlehurst, sister, Betty Brown (J.D.) of McRae-Helena, a friend more like a brother, Artis Wright, grandchildren, Michella Brewer, Letisha (Rocky) Brewer, Aurora Brewer,  Samantha (Matthew) Dean,  Kailee Deen, Ethan Deen, Elijah Deen, great-grandchildren, C.J., JerMonei, Adrian, Keturah (Baby Doll), Leilani, Re’Anna, Jaida (Doll Baby), and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Cody Hall, Bill Hamm, Stephon McRae, Wendell Brewer, Colby Brewer, and Bennie Calhoun.

Honorary pallbearers include Johnny Rewis, Lorene Adams, John Moss, Arthur Miles, Artis Wright, Rex McNeal, Larry Durden, Randy Durden, Sam Riley, Katherine McMillan, Mary McArthur, Steve McDaniel, Norris McDaniel, and Johnny Hall.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Brewer family and Wainright Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to wear a mask and follow the social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
