Thil Dean Colson

Mr. Thil Dean Colson, age 66, of Hazlehurst, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at Jeff Davis Hospital.

Dean was born on August 09, 1958, in Jeff Davis County.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Mary Colson, brothers, Rodger Colson, Gleen Colson and Kennith Colson.

He was a Truck Driver for many years and was previously employed by Big Oak Outdoors.

He loved his Farmland; he loved tilling the soil and watching his vegetables grow. In his early years he enjoyed the outdoors, he liked to hunt and even had a few deer trophies of his own and collecting coins was another hobby of his.

Survivors of his family consist of his daughter, Carlie Colson of West Green; sisters, Barbara Spell of Hazlehurst and Iris McNatt of Douglas; brothers, Roy Colson (Janell) of Hazlehurst, Russel Colson (Latrell), Danny Joe Colson (Bobbie Jo), and Robert Colson; partner, Shonda Carver of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephew also survived.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 01, 2025, at 11:00am in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Jinker Horton officiating.

The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to service time.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery

Joe Colson, Max Colson, Michael Creech, Johnny Faulk, Larry Dale King, and Dane Ursery will serve as active pallbearers.

All family and friends in attendance will serve as Honorary pallbearers

Wainright-Parlor and the Colson Family are in charge of all arrangements.
