Timothy Michael Lacey

Mr. Timothy “Tim” Michael Lacey, age 60, of Hazlehurst, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Jeff Davis Hospital.

Tim was born on July 8, 1964, at the USAF Hospital in Ankara, Turkey, to Winton B. Lacey, Sr. and Betty Lowery Lacey. He was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School and received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia Southern College (now University) in 1986. He retired from the Hazlehurst Police Department and the Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Office. He was a member of Mensa, loved to read, and was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and John Wayne.

He is preceded in death by his father, Winton B. Lacey, Sr.; his nephew, Kevin Thomas Lacey; many beloved aunts and uncles; and his special fur babies, Belle and Dixie.

Survivors include his mother, Betty L. Lacey; his brothers, Chris (Candy) Lacey of Peachtree City, GA, David Lacey (Vickie Moore), and Winton B. (Suzie) Lacey, Jr., all of Hazlehurst; a special friend, Michelle Googe of Hazlehurst; a much-loved “sister,” Jeannie (Tommy) Waters of Hazlehurst; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Chaney, Rev. Merle Webster, and Rev. Ashley Tyree officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until just prior to the service. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City.

Active pallbearers will be Ryan Lacey, Cody Lacey, Allen Powell, Brad Wooten, Justin Sanders, and Randy Roberson.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Hazlehurst Police Department, Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Office, and all law enforcement and first responders in attendance.

Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home and the Lacey family are in charge of all arrangements.
