Wanda Rowland-Morrison

Mrs. Wanda Elaine Rowland-Morrison, age 78, of Hazlehurst, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at her home.

She was born on January 7, 1947, in Hazlehurst to the late Harris B. Adams and Omie Mealer Adams, and she spent her entire life in Jeff Davis County. She  was formerly a member of Union Springs Baptist Church and was currently a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wanda loved watching baseball and Jeopardy, and she was happiest spending time outdoors—gardening, feeding her pet squirrels and wild birds, or casting a line to fish. She was always busy and was known for her strong work ethic and energetic spirit. She loved cooking and entertaining her family, and her loved ones fondly remember her saying, “Come over, I’ll cook.” Known affectionately as “Ninnie” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was cheery, giggly, and full of life, always joking and bringing laughter wherever she went.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Clint Lewis, Sr.; and her sister, Bernice Adams.

Mrs. Wanda is survived by her husband, Mason “Pedro” Morrison; her grandchildren, Clint Lewis, Jr., and Ashley Lewis (Josh Edwards), all of Hazlehurst; her great-grandchildren, Cole Harrison Lewis, Alexis Leanne Lewis, and Holly Addison-Jean Lewis; her great-great grandchildren, Hank Byczkoski, and Waylon Byczkoski; and several other special family members.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Jinker Horton officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until just prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Clint Lewis, Jr., Phillip Morrison, Robert Morrison, Richard Morrison, Gary Medders, and John Morrison.

Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home and the Morrison Family are in charge of arrangements.
