Wayne Herrington Obituary

Rev. Wayne C. Herrington, age 65, of Hazlehurst, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Jeff Davis Hospital.

 

Rev. Herrington was born October 01, 1955 in Bacon County. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cosby Benjamin Herrington and Roselle Rowell Brunner and brother, Gary Lott Herrington. He served various churches in the area for 18 years as their minister and was also a bus driver for Jeff Davis Board of Education for twelve years.  He was a member of Hazlehurst Church of God.

 

Survivors include his wife, Debra Pope Herrington of Hazlehurst; son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Rachel Herrington of Donalsonville; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Kevin Rewis of Hazlehurst; two sisters, Sherrie Davis of Hazlehurst and Lisa Easterling (Steve) of Tampa; two grandsons, Kaleb Rewis and Blake Rewis; two granddaughters, Rylee Herrington and Charlee Herrington; several nieces and nephews also survived.

 

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 11:00am in the Hazlehurst City Cemetery with Rev. Marcus Zipperer and Rev. Alvin Merritt officiating.

 

 

Due to Covid-10 restrictions, the Herrington family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to wear a mask and follow the social distancing set by our local health district and the CDC.
