r. William Hollis Davenport, age 72, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Bethany Nursing Home in Vidalia.
Mr. Davenport was born October 20, 1949 in Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Dave and Amy Lynn Davenport. He was a retired truckdriver and a member of the Uvalda Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends, but truly loved his grandkids and spoiling them.
Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Kight Purvis of Hazlehurst; and Karen Anderson (Roger) of Vidalia; son, John Dees III (Debbie) of Baxley; brothers, Robin Davenport (Brenda), Joe Davenport (Gay), Terry Davenport (Jackie) and Kenny Davenport; sisters, Marie Edge (Grover) and Toni Tapley; grandchildren Maci Graham, Caraline Kight, Kalem (Treasure), Kelby Anderson, J.C. Dees IV and Blaze Martin; great-grandkid, CindyKate Anderson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00—8:00pm at
Cedar Crossing Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 01, 2022 at 11:00am at Cedar Crossing Baptist Church with Rev. Reece Mincey and Rev. Robbie Fowler.
Active pallbearers will be Dexter Cason, Rusty Purvis, Dallas Adams, John Foskey, Billy Bratton and Neil Duckles
