William "Billy" Smith

Mr. William “Billy” Smith, age 71, of Hazlehurst, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024 surrounded by friends and family.

Mr. Smith was born September 29, 1953, in Jeff Davis County.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Atley Smith Sr. and Martha Carolyn Harper Smith, son, Jeremy (Ree) Smith, sister, Joyce Smith Merritt and brother, Sam Smith.

He was a member of Macedonia Church of God, an avid game fowl participant, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved his family and friends and was a hard worker.

Survivors include his two sons, Kalvin Smith (Christy) of Keystone Heights FL and Keith Smith of Snipesville; two brothers, Roy Smith Jr. (Linda) of Snipesville and Jeff Vann (Karen) of Snipesville; seven grandchildren, Keith Smith Jr., Alexis McDaniel, Alyssa Smith, Rhiannon Smith, Kalvin Smith Jr., Kadie Smith, Alea Smith, Jeremy Smith Jr. (Little Ree,) and Emma Smith; two great-grandchildren, Faely McDaniel and Sivangeleen (Sivvy) Smith; two nieces, Katie Smith and Shannon Smith; two nephews, Jamie Smith and Josh Smith.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 11:00am in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Van McCall officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt Pleasant Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Kalvin Smith Jr., John Faulk, Chris Newman, Colby Miller, Paul Bennett and Slate Vann.

Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
