Funeral Director/Embalmer
Anna Helms is a licensed funeral director and embalmer who has been compassionately serving families in the funeral industry since 2021. A native of Toombs County, she is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development, and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, where she obtained an Associate of Science in Funeral Service. Anna is also a licensed life insurance agent in the state of Georgia, assisting families with pre-need planning through Cincinnati Equitable Life Insurance Company. She resides in Lyons with her husband, Matt, and their fur babies.
Administrative Assistant
Helen Hamm is a native of Jeff Davis county and has been the secretary at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home since 2008. Prior to entering the funeral service industry, Helen was employed with Spell's Pest Control and Terminix Pest Control for over 30 years. She has been a faithful member of Hazlehurst Church of God for more than 56 years where she sings in the choir and serves on the church council.
Funeral Assistant
Don Harris has served as a funeral assistant with Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home since February of 2020. He is a native of Lumber City and lived most of his life in Hazlehurst. He retired from the Pierce County Recreation Department after living in Blackshear for 9 years and moved back to Hazlehurst in 2020. Don is a member of Southside Baptist Church. He is married to Helen, and together they have two sons, Jason Harris and Anthony and Anna Girtman Harris, and six grandchildren.
Funeral Assistant
Johnny Taylor has served as a funeral assistant with Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home since 2025. He has been the lead pastor of Lumber City Church of God for the past 7 years. He and his wife, Sheri, have been married for 34 years. They have 4 wonderful children, three beautiful daughter-in-laws, and two amazing grandchildren with one on the way. Johnny has served in the ministry for 35 years and is proud to represent his community. His motto is, "love God and love people."
